NBA Jerseys: Best of the Best

The jersey has evolved a lot over the history of the National Basketball Association. From bright colors and short shorts to more modern approaches, the jersey has become an icon of the league. Over the years we have seen some phenomenal uniforms and some not-so-great ones. Let’s take a look at the top ten in the NBA’s history:

10) Sacramento Kings

The best of both worlds. A little black and a little purple with a checkered pattern down the side. These jerseys are very nice and are fun to watch when they are on the court.

9) Seattle Supersonics

You could pretty much take your pick with any of the Supersonics jerseys, as a safe bet I went with the red one because it’s one we didn’t see often (unfortunately).

8) Washington Bullets

Very patriotic. These Bullets jerseys are a nice touch of red, white, and blue. The name on the back isn’t half bad either (even though his years with Washington weren’t his best).

7) New Orleans Hornets

You might think you’re playing two different teams when on the court with these New Orleans Hornets Mardi Gras jerseys. They’re purple on the front and green on the back with a nice yellow design down the side. Really a very well put together kit if you ask me.

6) Houston Rockets

The classic pinstripes on this Houston Rockets jersey are a touch of class. The Houston Rockets retro logo as well is pretty fancy.

5) Atlanta Hawks

Some might say that this jersey is one of the ugliest of all time, but I say no way. It’s not very often that a team can pull off putting their logo on their jerseys effectively, but the Hawks did just that.

4) Toronto Raptors

Back in the days when Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady reigned supreme north of the border, these jerseys looked fantastic (and still do). Not many jerseys in the NBA that are purple look bad, but these look especially good.

3) Denver Nuggets

It’s really a toss-up for these last three on which is the best. This Denver Nuggets retro jersey very subtly hides a rainbow behind the skyline and the Rockies. I say, the more colors you put in a jersey the better!

2) Detroit Pistons

The teal Pistons jerseys were a nice alternate jersey for the Bad Boys. I also can say that I really like the bubble numbering technique used on these uniforms. All-in-all a nice touch for Detroit.

1) Vancouver Grizzlies

Drum roll….and number one on the list is the beautiful Vancouver Grizzlies jerseys. What is the most impressive on these jerseys is the intricate design on the sleeves. The 3D effect that the word “Grizzlies” has on the jersey is exceptional as well.
